About The Position

Howmet Fastening Systems is looking for a Machining Technician I, 3rd shift, to join our Waco, TX team. This role is responsible for working with close tolerances, setting up and operating a variety of manual and/or CNC metal cutting machines. The position will read and interpret blueprints, engineering sketches, and diagrams and produce items for a variety of applications.

Requirements

• High school diploma or GED.
• Minimum of 6 months of experience utilizing machine tools to perform precision metal cutting operations. This may include Technical school education.
• Employees must be legally authorized to work in the United States. Verification of employment eligibility will be required at the time of hire.

Responsibilities

• Set up and operate a variety of manual and/or CNC metal cutting machines such as mills, lathes, grinders, and related equipment.
• Produce items including; tooling for production machines, repair parts, installation tooling parts, and fastener prototypes.
• Read and interpret blueprints and sketches to determine specifications of items to be produced.
• Read gages, micrometers, scales, calipers and related precision measuring equipment to determine item conformance to specifications.
• Perform work to dimensional tolerances.
• Perform routine maintenance and adjustments on machine tools and equipment.
• Maintain a clean and orderly work area in accordance with 5-S principles.
• Perform all work activities in accordance with safety and environmental standards.
• Provide hand tools required for performance of assigned duties.
• Maintain full compliance with Company policies and procedures and conduct all activities in accordance with the Howmet Guide to Business Conduct.
• Demonstrate a knowledge of and commitment to lean manufacturing principles and techniques.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
