About The Position

Kawasaki Tennessee, Inc. is currently accepting resumes for a Machining Night Shift Team Leader in our Aluminum Die Casting facility. Candidates for this position must be willing to work flexible hours and overtime. Primary Functions: Responsible for all areas of the Machining department. Working Team Leader will oversee and monitor production team activities, giving importance to individual team members and overall achievement of departmental goals. Ensure that standard work procedures are performed in accordance with the standard operating procedure. In the event SOP’s are not followed, will take necessary steps to ensure that SOP’s are followed and improved as needed. Successfully lead and function within a team environment and be able to adapt to change. Assist or perform machine setups and tool changes. Perform machine troubleshooting and repairs. Perform preventative maintenance and routine machine checks Responsible for assuring that all Safety and Quality rules and guidelines are being followed. Participate in a teamwork atmosphere and contribute to various continuous improvement projects and Kaizen activities such as defect rate investigation, standardized work improvements, cost savings or other improvement activities. Other responsibilities as assigned.

  • Thorough knowledge of Machining operations
  • Above average verbal and written communication skills with the ability to relate well in individual and group settings.
  • Kaizen submissions
  • Frequent overtime may be required

Nice To Haves

  • Computer literate with proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel and Outlook
  • Kanban Experience
