Machining Supervisor

General Tool CoReading, OH

About The Position

At GTC, we don't just manufacture precision aerospace and defense components — we build careers, culture, and ownership. If you're a seasoned machining leader who thrives when the lights go down and the stakes go up, we want you on our team. And here's the part that sets us apart: through our Ownership For All program, every eligible employee gets an actual ownership stake in this business. You're not just a supervisor here. You're an owner. Your wins aren't just good for the company — they're good for you. You'll run the show on night shift — owning quality, productivity, people, and process across one or more machining departments. That means setting your team up to win before the shift even starts: materials staged, programs loaded, people assigned, and everyone clear on the mission. Day-to-day, you'll drive quality by holding the line on standard operating procedures and frozen processes, investigating non-conformances alongside quality partners, and leading root cause analysis that actually sticks. You'll keep production moving by anticipating problems before they become disruptions, actively participating in scheduling meetings, and calling in overtime when the schedule demands it. Your most important job, though, is your people. You'll train them, coach them, recognize them when they shine, and hold them accountable when they need it — always fairly, always with dignity. You'll conduct performance appraisals that mean something, build a team that trusts you, and create an environment where everyone knows they matter.
