The Machining Program is a brand new program with Porter and Chester Institute. This is an exciting new opportunity for PCI to grow as a technical institute and help a brand new population of student’s train and find work within the Machining industry. The Program Coordinator will organize and lead faculty in a manner that ensures quality classroom and lab instruction. They will administer programs, monitor the learning process and tailor course materials to the levels and needs of individual students, which will ultimately allow students to develop employable skills leading them to jobs that are commensurate with student ability and employer expectation.

  • Teach a minimum of 20 hours per week per term
  • Program Administration, including but not limited to monitoring and maintaining appropriate staffing levels and ensuring inventory of consumables for the programs is maintained at all times
  • Develop and implement strategies/plans to maximize student learning
  • Create and maintain excellent customer and student services
  • Faculty Hiring, Performance Management, Mentoring, Training and employee engagement
  • High school diploma/GED required
  • 3 years' documentable occupational work experience in machining required
  • Minimum of 3 years of field experience with proven skills necessary to set up and run vertical milling machines and horizontal lathes
  • 3 years’ classroom teaching experience at the post-secondary level preferred
  • 5 years' of successful leadership and management experience preferred
  • Basic proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, PowerPoint, Outlook)
