About The Position

The Machining Intern is responsible for maintaining high standards of quality and safety-oriented manual machine operation. They are responsible for the set up and operation of manual lathes and mills. The machining intern keeps a clean and organized shop, working in an efficient manner to ensure smooth workflow. They are willing to learn new skills and work overtime as needed to ensure project deadlines and expectations are met.

  • High School Diploma or GED
  • 1-3 years experience operating manual machining equipment

Nice To Haves

  • Prefer 2-year technical/business degree or equivalent experience

Responsibilities

  • Sets up and operates manual mill
  • Sets up and operates manual lathe
  • Operates various pedestal grinders, buffers, wire wheels
  • Performs tasks while ensuring safety requirements are met
  • Responsible for daily production and ensures that work is completed on-time and within quality standards
  • Responsible for documenting accuracy and ensuring all inspection criteria are met
  • Performs equipment maintenance as recommended
  • Occasional welding as needed
  • May be asked to work in other departments or overtime as required by the business
  • Performs other duties as assigned
