About The Position

This is a Weekend Shift position at Pratt & Whitney, located in North Berwick, ME. The role involves working Friday to Sunday from 6:00 am to 6:30 pm, allowing employees to work 36 hours while being paid for 40 hours. The position is designed for individuals with little or no machining or grinding background, providing the necessary training to become a Certified Operator. Selected employees will undergo a 3-week training program followed by 4-8 weeks of on-the-job training, learning to set up and operate NC milling/grinding machines and other equipment. Responsibilities include verifying conformance of finished work, maintaining machines, and collaborating with engineers and quality assurance personnel.

Requirements

• High School diploma or GED.
• Ability to make computations involving decimals and fractions.
• Ability to manage multiple competing priorities simultaneously.

Nice To Haves

• 1+ years of manufacturing, automotive, or related trade experience.

Responsibilities

• Attend a 3-week training program and participate in 4-8 weeks of on-the-job training.
• Set up and operate NC milling/grinding machines, vertical turret lathes, or VTC's.
• Work from operation sheets, part travelers, BOROPS, and oral instructions.
• Verify conformance of finished work to specifications using precision measuring instruments.
• Obtain operator Certification to accept/reject parts.
• Perform required total preventive maintenance (TPM) on machines.
• Collaborate with engineers, quality assurance, programmers, and other production personnel.
