We offer career opportunities where you can contribute and grow. Our Machinery and Equipment Specialties department seeks a field engineer to provide machinery and equipment boiler inspections. This position is in our Wausau, WI territory and can be filled by a trainee or experienced field engineer. Positions serving territories away from our headquarters in Fairfield, Ohio are fully remote.
Responsibilities
- Maintain territory's jurisdictional boiler and pressure vessel certificate inspections
- Efficiently and effectively manage the territory for which you are responsible
- Educate agents on how to market machinery and equipment to their clients
- Serve as a professional resource to our insurance agents as they retain business and increase the value of their marketing efforts
- Provide high level of claims service to our local independent insurance agents

- An engineering or technically-based bachelor's degree or other qualifying boiler and pressure vessel work experience

- Strong proficiency in Microsoft® Office tools and related software
- Willingness to travel regularly within the territory to meet job demands
- Machinery and equipment experience within a property and casualty insurance company (preferred)
- Strong knowledge of machinery and equipment, equipment breakdown coverages, corresponding business lines, regulations and consensus standards (preferred)
- A bachelor's degree applicable to the position responsibilities or related experience and training
- A national board mission or have the necessary qualifications to promptly acquire it
- Strong consultative, organizational, and presentation skills
- Demonstrated pursuit of continuing education
