About The Position
The Machine Yard Attendant at Stowers Machinery is responsible for performing various yard work tasks as assigned by the supervisor. This role is crucial in maintaining shop operations in compliance with local, federal, and Caterpillar guidelines. The attendant must complete tasks efficiently and with minimal supervision, ensuring that all work is done within an acceptable timeframe. The position involves assisting in loading and unloading service customer tractors that are not fully operational, as well as handling loose loads for service customers. In addition to yard work, the attendant is responsible for maintaining oil and water separators to meet legal standards, managing the dirt collection area, and ensuring that trash and metal bins are emptied according to contamination control guidelines. General maintenance of the shop is also part of the job, including performing inspections on incoming customer machines and keeping the lot clean. The attendant must adhere to all safety rules and maintain a clean and orderly work area, actively participating in safety improvement activities. Customer satisfaction is a key aspect of this role, requiring the attendant to respond to customer requests in a professional and timely manner. The attendant must maintain a professional appearance and keep management informed to assist with customer inquiries. Dependability and punctuality are essential, as is the ability to work both independently and as part of a team.
