About The Position

KAAST Machine Tools is a machine tool and fabrication equipment manufacturer based in the greater Philadelphia area. We offer one of the most extensive new machinery lineups in North America and are one of the fastest-growing machine tool companies in the nation. Our products include CNC and conventional chip-making equipment (mills, lathes, saws, grinders) as well as a complete line of fabricating equipment (press brakes, shears, angle and plate rolls, plasma, and waterjet systems). We are seeking a hands-on Machine Tool Service Technician to join our Philadelphia team. This role involves maintaining, troubleshooting, and repairing a variety of machine tools to ensure optimal performance and safety. The ideal candidate will have a strong technical background, experience with mechanical and electrical systems, and excellent problem-solving skills. This is primarily a warehouse/showroom-based role, with occasional travel for installations, major tradeshows (IMTS, FABTECH), and large machine deliveries. Travel typically accounts for less than 50% of the role.

Requirements

  • Industrial machine tool installation and repair experience.
  • Hands-on experience with machine tools (lathes, mills, grinders, saws, etc.)
  • Strong mechanical aptitude and industrial electrical (3-phase) knowledge.
  • Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
  • Ability to work independently or as part of a team in a fast-paced environment.
  • Strong communication skills, including the ability to assist customers over the phone.
  • Electrical: 1 year (Required)
  • Capital Equipment / Machine Tools: 1 year (Required)
  • Willingness to travel: 25% (Required)

Responsibilities

  • Prepare machines for shipment to end users.
  • Uncrate new machine tools, power up, perform full testing, and issue written inspection reports.
  • Perform customer demonstrations and operator walkthroughs.
  • Provide technical phone support and on-site service to troubleshoot, diagnose, and resolve machine issues.
  • Accurately document service activities, repairs, and maintenance procedures.
