About The Position

Coordinates, operates and monitors packaging machinery within the facility. Performs preventative maintenance on packaging machinery, as necessary. Assists Operators with troubleshooting and startup, as necessary: Other duties may be assigned. Operate and monitor food processing equipment and packaging machines, to ensure the efficient and safe production of company products. Set up and adjust machinery and equipment as needed for each production run, following established procedures and guidelines. Conduct regular inspections and preventative maintenance of machinery and equipment to identify and address any malfunctions or issues that may affect production. Follow strict hygiene and safety protocols to prevent contamination and ensure compliance with food safety regulations. Troubleshoot and repair issues prior to and during production with packaging machinery. Ensure machines operate efficiently, safely, and according to specifications. Maintain records of maintenance and repairs. Collaborate with production staff to minimize downtime. Assist in startup and shutdown of equipment during shift changes. Performs changeovers, as needed, prior to scheduled production dates. Requirements

  • High school diploma or general education degree (GED).
  • Must have mechanical experience and/or a good understanding of mechanical functions.
  • Must have leadership experience and/or show leadership qualities.
  • Must be able to speak, read and write in English.
  • Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating instructions and procedure manuals.
  • Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals.
  • Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written or oral form.
  • To perform this job successfully, an individual should have basic knowledge of computers and the ability to input data into a computer and touch screen.
  • Lift up to 50 pounds as needed during the shift
  • Stand and/or walk for the duration of the shift
  • Use hands to finger, grip, handle, or feel and reach with hands and arms
  • Talk and hear
  • Occasionally required to climb or balance and stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl
