About The Position

The Machine Tech Operator is responsible for setting up equipment in preparation for startup and running the KP machines while adhering to safety practices, food safety policies, and company policies. The role involves setting up the V-Mag stuffer/grinder and KP machines, moving empty racks into position for loading, and loading logs onto racks. The operator will send out correct diameters of slicing logs to the freezer, change film as needed, identify and strip out defective logs, drain water from the bottom of KP, and inspect equipment. Additionally, the operator will set up and break down grinders, record the condition of grinder plates on inspection sheets, and inform QA and Production Supervisors of any issues with equipment or raw materials. The operator will also assist maintenance personnel in identifying and correcting machine problems and perform preventive maintenance on equipment in the assigned department.

Requirements

  • Basic math skills and ability to become certified in Lock Out Tag Out Program.
  • Willingness and ability to work on and around machinery and chemicals.
  • Willingness and ability to work in temperatures less than or equal to 35 degrees Fahrenheit for a minimum of 8 hours.
  • Willingness and ability to lift/carry up to 50 pounds.
  • Ability to perform tasks for periods of 8 hours on concrete floor, including bending, twisting, reaching, standing, stooping, walking, climbing, and lifting.
  • Willingness and ability to pinch/grip product and place into specified location.
  • At least 6 months of continuous employment in the last 18 months.

Nice To Haves

  • At least 6 months of relevant machine operator, warehouse, agricultural, or production experience.
