About The Position

You don’t just run machines. You run the shop. We’re looking for a Machine Shop Supervisor who can lead from the floor, hold the line on quality, and deliver precision parts without excuses. This is a hands-on leadership role. You’ll own safety, output, performance, and people. If you’ve been the unofficial leader for years and are ready to formally run the operation, this is your shot. What You’ll Own Leadership & Accountability Directly manage all machinists and shop personnel. Hire, train, develop, discipline, and when necessary, terminate. Conduct formal performance reviews and make compensation recommendations. Build staffing plans and schedule coverage to hit production targets. Set clear expectations. Hold people accountable. Operational Execution Set job sequencing and production priorities. Monitor output, cycle times, scrap, rework, and delivery performance. Drive safety, quality, and on-time execution — daily. Implement process improvements that increase efficiency and reduce cost. Escalate systemic risks early and propose solutions. Technical Excellence Interpret complex blueprints and GD&T requirements. Oversee CNC programming standards and quality compliance. Support troubleshooting of complex machining challenges. Maintain proficiency with 3-axis and 5-axis CNC mills and lathes. Ensure tooling, fixtures, and equipment are production ready. Cross-Functional Impact Partner closely with Engineering, Production, and Supply Chain. Support capacity planning and capital equipment strategy. Align machine shop performance to company growth objectives. Requirements What You Bring 10+ years of machining experience. 3+ years leading machinists or shop teams. Proven experience managing performance and making employment decisions. Strong blueprint and GD&T expertise. Deep CNC programming and machining knowledge. Leadership presence. Clear decision-maker. Not conflict-averse. Safety-first mindset with data-driven problem-solving ability. High school diploma required; technical certification or associate degree preferred. Work Environment Manufacturing and machine shop setting. Regular movement across the production floor. May operate equipment as needed. Lift, carry, push, or pull materials up to 50 lbs. Exposure to noise, vibration, coolants, oils, and moving machinery. Requires ability to read technical documentation and communicate clearly in a production environment. Why This Role Matters This position is critical. The machine shop feeds production and R&D. If it runs well, the company runs well. If it doesn’t, nothing else works. We’re looking for someone who takes that personally. If you’re ready to lead a shop, raise the standard, and build a team that delivers precision without drama then apply.
