Based in Southern California near the Los Angeles International Airport, The Marvin Group consists of Marvin Engineering (MEC), Marvin Test Solutions (MTS) and Marvin Land Systems (MLS).  Marvin Engineering designs and produces military Alternate Mission Equipment.  Marvin Test Solutions designs and manufactures armament Test Equipment. Marvin Land Systems specializes in the design and build of power and thermal management systems. Our collaboration extends across a diverse array of programs and platforms, including major military prime contractors such as Lockheed Martin, Northrop Grumman, and Raytheon.    SCOPE   Supervise Machine Shop and assigned Reports to support the day-to-day set-ups and production efficiently and accurately, to meet deliveries and customer requirements, while ensuring Quality and Safety First.

Requirements

  • Must have 3+ years of Machine Shop experience, with the latest machining technologies.
  • Blueprint reading required, must know how to use Inspection tools.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Team player with Can-Do-Attitude
  • Frequent standing, walking, or sitting.
  • Occasionally required to bend, stoop, or kneel.
  • Must be able to speak/read/write English
  • Must be able to lift up to 35 lbs
  • Wear PPE (Safety Shoes / Glasses at all times).
  • Must have a Highschool Diploma or G.E.D equivalent

Responsibilities

  • Supervise Leads and Machine Shop Employees, issuing work assignments per schedule; maintain safety standards and providing and documenting training where necessary.
  • Maintain awareness and understanding of documents published in the BMS Library, with specific competency on the SIPOCs applicable to the Machining and Deburring process.
  • Enforce Safety First throughout the department.
  • Schedule work throughout CNC Machines – Bridgeport’s department.
  • Ensure Travelers and paperwork for set-up and operation of machines daily.
  • Analyze operational issues in conjunction with Manager, QA and Engineering.
  • Responsible for meeting Manufacturing and Quality requirements, CNC Efficiencies.
  • Prepare for Yearly Audits AS9100 rev D.
  • Maintain internal metrics to present in the War Room.
  • Provide orderly and efficient changeover to next shift Supervisor.
  • Make recommendations to improve production methods, performance, equipment and quality of product.
  • Develop subordinates’ skills, cross training, and encourage growth and mentor future leadership.
  • Support Marvin’s Vision and Values.
  • Enforce Lean and 6’S.
  • Perform other duties as assigned and/or needed.
