About The Position
Machine Shop Supervisor Wisconsin Aluminum Foundry – Manitowoc, WI Due to internal promotion, we are seeking a hands-on Machine Shop Supervisor to lead a small team in a tool room-style machining environment within our foundry operations. This is not a high-volume production CNC shop!! Our machine shop primarily supports the foundry through tooling repair, custom machining, equipment component rebuilds, and problem-solving work that keeps operations running. If you enjoy diagnosing mechanical problems, repairing tooling, and machining custom parts, this is an opportunity to lead a skilled team while staying close to the work. Requirements
- 5+ years of machining experience in a tool room, maintenance, or repair environment
- Strong experience with manual machining equipment (lathe, mill, grinder)
- Ability to read blueprints and mechanical drawings
- Strong troubleshooting and mechanical problem-solving skills
- Versatility and flexibility managing a rapidly changing schedule
Responsibilities
- Supervise daily operations of the machine shop and tool room team
- Prioritize repair and machining work supporting foundry production and maintenance
- Oversee repair and rebuilding of tooling, fixtures, and mechanical components
- Troubleshoot worn or damaged parts and determine machining solutions
- Provide technical guidance and mentorship to machinists
- Maintain safe and organized shop operations
- Work closely with maintenance, engineering, and production teams to support equipment uptime
