About The Position
Spears Manufacturing Co. is seeking experienced and entry-level Machine Shop - Manual/CNC Machinists to join our team in Caney, KS. As a leader in the manufacturing and distribution of plastic valves, fittings, and pipe since 1969, we are expanding our operations due to continued growth. This position offers a career opportunity with a competitive pay range starting at $18.00 to $22.00 per hour, depending on experience and skill level. The ideal candidates will possess a strong background in machining and welding, with the ability to work with minimal supervision. For the Manual/CNC Machinist role, candidates should have a basic understanding of injection mold processes, strong problem-solving skills, and the ability to read and interpret tool drawings and blueprints. Precision is key, as machinists must hold close tolerances of plus/minus .002”. Familiarity with cutting tool geometry, speeds, and feeds is essential, along with the capability to program, set up, and operate Hurco mills, Fadal mills, or Romi lathes with Fanuc control. Experience with 3D mill M/CAM and conventional machining tools such as mills, lathes, surface grinders, drills, saws, and EDM is a plus. We are looking for candidates who are dependable, focused, and eager for continued growth and opportunities within the company. While experience is preferred, we are willing to train suitable applicants who demonstrate the right skills and attitude. Candidates should also have a working knowledge of the tools necessary for manufacturing, including ID & OD mics, depth mics, jo blocks, indicators, and calipers. Own tools are preferred but not mandatory. This is not a production facility, so adaptability to constant change is crucial.
