The Geophysical Institute at the University of Alaska Fairbanks is seeking two Machinists to join its research-focused Machine Shop. This position involves operating Computer Numerical Control (CNC) machines, lathes, milling machines, and other equipment to fabricate, construct, and complete various projects. As a Machinist, you will play a crucial role in designing and fabricating equipment that will be utilized by UAF researchers globally. The successful candidates will be expected to approach their role as leaders, managing customer expectations while ensuring staff safety and advocating for both the science and the university's mission. This position is represented by Local 6070 and is a full-time, continuing, exempt position with a competitive salary and benefits package.
