Caterpillar has exciting opportunity for Foundry Machine Repair Mechanic at our Mapleton Seals Facility! This is a 2nd shift opportunity for our weekend crew (Friday - Monday). Pay starts at $35.81/hr plus $1/ hour shift differential. This full-time position offers benefits including health insurance, paid time off, paid holidays, 401K, etc.

Requirements

  • Successfully pass a 2-hour skills exam (Ramsay Test).
  • 3-5 years maintenance experience.
  • Be able to work near high voltage electricity, molten metal, heavy equipment, various gases, moving machinery, high above the floor and in congested or confined areas.

Nice To Haves

  • Strong mechanical background.
  • Machine shop experience.
  • Technical degree/diploma.
  • Must be able to weld, cut, solder and braze.

Responsibilities

  • Inspect equipment and plan repairs for service required.
  • Check blueprints, diagrams, or drawings for repairs or installations when necessary.
  • Perform lay-out work and fabrication.
  • Use various hand tools and equipment to dismantle, repair, replace and reassemble parts and equipment.
  • Assemble and align gears, bearings, cams, and shafts involving the application of press, sliding and running fits.
  • Operate machinery such as drill presses, lathes, mills, grinders, power saws, and cutting & threading machines.
  • Perform maintenance pipefitting on all equipment.
  • Change, set up, and adjust equipment as required.
  • Lubricate or direct others to lubricate equipment.
  • Use all common and precision checking equipment, laser equipment, and portable power tools.
  • Install, repair, and maintain pumps.
  • Use hydraulic equipment, metal cutting and forming equipment, compressors, valves, turbines, steam delivery systems and material handling equipment.
