Our SDG team in Salt Lake is eagerly looking for a Machine Parts Inspector II to join their dynamic team. You will join the Quality Control team, reporting directly to our Missiles Site Quality Manager and be tasked with ensuring that complex mechanical, electromechanical, and electronic parts and assemblies are in accordance with applicable drawings and specifications, and that all processes are performed in accordance with applicable specifications. This is an on-site, collaborative working environment that offers a 9/80 schedule to include every other Friday off! (Typical schedule is M-Th, 7am-4pm, every other F 7am-3pm)

Requirements

  • Minimum 3 years' experience working within a Quality environment or related field is required
  • Experience with AS9100/ISO9001 and AS9102 preferred
  • ASQ Quality Inspector Certification (CQI) is desired but not required
  • Experience with military and commercial specifications preferred
  • Ideally possesses a working knowledge of manufacturing, assembly, test, and procurement processes.
  • Due to Federal Contract Obligations, must be a US Citizen or Permanent Resident (Green Card Holder)

Responsibilities

  • Use of optical comparators, video/optical measuring systems, micrometers, calipers, indicators, thread gages, set rings, thread wires, gage blocks, height gages, bore gages, precision squares, angle plates, v-blocks, etc.
  • Performing limited complexity surface plate layout inspection.
  • Reviewing and preparing first article inspection reports.
  • Performing hardness testing and spring testing operations.
  • Reviewing material and process physical certifications.
  • Documenting discrepancies and out of tolerance conditions.
  • Reading and interpreting blueprints in accordance with ASME Y-14.5.
