About The Position

To stretch form a variety of aircraft parts. May be required to assist lower grade operators.

Requirements

• Must have a high school diploma, an equivalent certificate, or a bronze level WorkKeys certification.
• Requires a minimum of 1 year stretching machine experience, including an orientation period on machine.

Responsibilities

• Sets up and operates a numerical tape controlled stretching machine to form a variety of contours and shapes in sheet metal and extruded parts where tooling controls the shape of the part.
• Develops program tapes by determining required machine operation sequences and speeds.
• Utilizes knowledge of machine capacity and material characteristics during tool proving and program definition.
• Maintains a file of tapes, and setup sheets for cross or future reference.
• Uses some simple handle forming tools, operate band saw and power transportation and lifting equipment and some checking devices such as template or shop aid.
• Performs other duties as required and responsible only for own work.
