About The Position

Berner Food and Beverage is seeking Skilled Machine Operators /Production Workers for their Dakota, IL location. The ideal worker is responsible for a variety of tasks, including various food processing machine operations, stacking and inspection of cases, ensuring product quality, and stacking per product specifications; stack-off; labeling; and any other duties assigned by the Shift Supervisors Duties are to be carried out while following established Standard Operating Procedures in a manner that is compliant with our safety policies.

Requirements

Must be able to read, write, and comprehend English, along with having good computer skills
Must be able to lift up to twenty pounds regularly and repetitively
Must have the ability to read a production schedule/assignment
Must have the ability to communicate effectively with the Supervisors
Must have a solid understanding of basic math

Responsibilities

Stack cases in a pattern assigned to the product
Experience in operating various machinery as it relates to Berner's Operations: Packaging Systems (KHS); Filler Machine, Retorts (aseptic), Brewing equipment (Brew Deck operations); Labeler, and Pallatizer.
Experience and understanding of CCPs; SOPs; Customer Specifications, Production Analytics
Label products accordingly to product requirements
Perform various tasks as assigned by Supervisor.
Keep area clear of debris and hazards
Inspect cases while being stacked for proper packing, damaged product, or other deformities
Place a holding layer of shrink wrap on pallets to ensure stability
Proactively inform Supervisors and Line Operators of problems
In some cases, perform scanning functions and issue paperwork or tracking numbers
