The Machine Operator is responsible for setting up, adjusting, and operating production machinery for wire made from various metal alloys and diameters. This role involves ensuring that the machinery operates efficiently and produces quality products according to specific work instructions. The operator will read work orders and bills of materials to determine product specifications and is accountable for both the quantity and quality of the output. The position requires the use of various types of equipment and machinery, as well as maintaining the machinery during operation and making necessary adjustments, including changing dies. The operator will also report any machinery issues to the supervisor or maintenance team and inspect products to ensure excellence and quality using measuring tools such as tape measures, micrometers, and tensile test machines. Additionally, the operator will be responsible for labeling packages, using forklifts and cranes to load and unload machines, recording and documenting downtime, and adhering to all safety and housekeeping rules and guidelines. Participation in training sessions, including monthly health and safety training, is also required.
