About The Position

The Machine Operator at IPS Corporation is responsible for tending to mixing machines and related piping systems, ensuring the proper loading and movement of materials for production. This role involves manual handling of dry materials and liquid solvents, operating mixers, and maintaining safety and cleanliness in the work environment. The position requires adherence to safety protocols and the ability to follow detailed instructions for batch production.

Requirements

• High school diploma or GED required.
• Trade school or apprenticeship experience preferred.
• Prior assembly, manufacturing, or chemical industry background desirable.
• Basic computational and volumetric skills necessary.
• Ability to calculate/estimate weight or volume of mixtures.

Responsibilities

• Tend mixing machines and related piping systems.
• Load and move dry materials, tints, fillers, etc. into hoppers/batch tanks.
• Load, unload, and move liquid solvents using calibrated flow regulators and hoses.
• Detect and report unsafe conditions or equipment.
• Make adjustments to batches per written instructions from Quality Control.
• Follow oral instructions from Group Leader or Production Manager.
• Move pallets and tanks with a forklift.
• Dumps drums with a drum grabber.
• Transfer materials using pumping systems.
• Operate mixers according to parameters in batch packages.
• Weigh materials and add them to batches as required.
• Document process instructions including lot numbers, quantities, times, and temperatures.
• Clean batch tanks, mixing blades, and equipment as required.
• Operate hydraulic presses to fill batches.
• Perform any other duties as assigned by management.
