About The Position

Ocean Spray is hiring Machine Operators for night shift at our Tomah Production Plant—this is more than just a job, it’s a chance to build a real career. You’ll start at $23.83/hour plus a $1.25/hour night shift differential, with training and opportunities to move into higher‑paying roles and potentially transition to day shift as openings come up. This is a full‑time, year‑round position on a 12‑hour 2‑2‑3 schedule (4:00 p.m.–4:00 a.m.), which means you get Friday, Saturday, and Sunday off every other week. Position Overview: This position operates, maintains, and controls processing and packaging equipment and must be able to complete basic troubleshooting of equipment. Machine Operators complete required lab checks timely, ensuring the quality of our raw materials and product. He/she uses in-house applications for recordkeeping and inputting for in utilized systems (e.g. Maximo and SAP). Other duties include numbering batches, completing full/partial confirmations, controls and inventory, operating a scale, and supporting other plant production needs as requested by management.

Requirements

  • Ability to be or become Forklift Certified.
  • Ability to lift up to 48 lbs on occasion.
  • Ability to stand, perform, and maneuver around a plant and production line during an eight- or 12-hour shift (e.g., walking, lifting, climbing, bending, stretching and reaching, squatting, crawling under conveyors, using ladders, vision, hearing, and may require long periods of standing and frenzied activity).
  • Ability to wear and work using fall and other protection equipment (e.g., Safety glasses with side shields, steel-toed shoes, hearing protection, hairnets, rubber shoes, aprons or coveralls, smocks, gloves, and face shields).
  • Ability to function as a team member and contribute to team goals.
  • Advanced computer skills and navigate controls screens.
  • Knowledge/compliance of the Plant’s good manufacturing practices.
  • Remain updated with the Plant’s standard operating procedures and sanitation standard operating procedures.
  • Adhere to the Plant’s Lock-Out, Tag-Out, Try-Out (Lock-Out, Tag-Out, Try-Out) policy/procedures.
  • Consistently wear proper personal protective equipment. Good personal hygiene.
  • Ability to effectively communicate with others, proficiency in reading, writing and math skills.
  • Must be able to accomplish changeovers.

Responsibilities

  • Maintains a constant flow of juice in appropriate directions
  • Safely and competently operates and manages various machinery and equipment, completing any necessary and related paperwork and testing
  • Manage inventory and enter into a database for yield calculation
  • Load and unload tankers, assure proper chemicals are used, and complete necessary related testing and paperwork Perform equipment start-up and shutdown, as aligned with the facility's requirements (e.g. CIP/COP requirements using Lock-Out, Tag-Out, Try-Out)
  • Keeps area and equipment in a clean and orderly condition.
  • Monitor operational parameters and records results hourly.
  • Perform general maintenance on machinery as needed.
  • Work within established quality procedures and standards to ensure food safety.
  • Comply with all aspects of the corresponding facility's safety policy
  • Perform other duties as assigned by management personnel
  • Support other teams as needed.
