About The Position

The Machine Operator I is responsible for setting up and operating heavy machinery and related gauges to perform various cutting, punching, forming, blocking, and processing operations. They must have thorough knowledge of production techniques and the ability to produce quality-building parts. Understands and follows safety rules and precautions necessary for working in and around a manufacturing environment Ability to set-up and operate machinery and equipment to cut, punch, form, or paint quality finished or semifinished parts Ability to operate computerized equipment and material handling equipment Performs routine preventive maintenance, adjustments, and lubrication on equipment and production tools as required to maintain proper operation Marks part numbers, order numbers, and the number of pieces on parts Attaches identification tags as required for customer to have the ability locate correct parts Interprets blueprints, specifications, and other technical data to select the correct raw material or semifinished parts Maintains continuous improvement practices in work area May be assigned other projects and duties as designated by Team Leader

Requirements

  • High School Diploma or equivalent (GED)
  • Some knowledge of a manufacturing environment
  • Ability to lift up to 30 pounds on a continual basis above shoulder height and below the waist
  • Mobility – Prolonged periods of time on feet, standing, bending, etc.
  • Exposure – Moving mechanical parts, fumes, airborne particles, and non-climate-controlled environment
  • Noise Tolerance – High noise levels
  • To perform satisfactorily in this position, the employee must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily

  • Produce quality-building parts
  • Set-up and operate machinery and equipment to cut, punch, form, or paint quality finished or semifinished parts
  • Operate computerized equipment and material handling equipment
  • Perform routine preventive maintenance, adjustments, and lubrication on equipment and production tools as required to maintain proper operation
  • Mark part numbers, order numbers, and the number of pieces on parts
  • Attach identification tags as required for customer to have the ability locate correct parts
  • Interpret blueprints, specifications, and other technical data to select the correct raw material or semifinished parts
  • Maintain continuous improvement practices in work area
  • Assigned other projects and duties as designated by Team Leader
