About The Position

The Machine Operator will be responsible for operating sheet metal fabrication machines, interpreting shop orders and engineering drawings, and performing quality checks using calibration equipment. This role involves working with flat sheet metal (steel and aluminum) and executing various machine operations such as brake press, hammer flanger, buffalo roller, hand scribing, and hand sheering. The position requires participation in safety and quality training covering topics like mechanical power presses, safeguarding requirements, trip devices, press inspections, die setting, light curtain blanking procedures, basic operating controls, first piece quality inspection, in-process quality inspection, Linknet training, and Laser Operator Training.

Requirements

  • A minimum of 6 months Machine Operating experience in a manufacturing environment
  • Proven analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Effective oral and written communication skills
  • Ability to multi-task in fast paced environment
  • Ability to be self-driven

Nice To Haves

  • A minimum of 2 years of machine operating experience in a manufacturing environment
  • Experience reading blueprints, schematics, and drawings
  • Experience with calibration equipment such as calipers
  • Prior SAP experience
  • Proficient with basic computer applications

Responsibilities

  • Operate sheet metal fabrication machines

  • Perform quality checks
  • Use calibration equipment such as calipers, or any other equipment necessary to perform job functions
  • Work with flat sheet metal (steel and aluminum)
  • Run various machine operations (brake press, hammer flanger, buffalo roller, hand scribing & hand sheering)
  • Undergo Safety & Quality Training necessary, including but not limited to: Types of Mechanical Power Presses, Safe Guarding Requirements, Trip Devices, Press Inspections, Die Setting, Light Curtain Blanking Procedure, Basic Operating Controls, First Piece Quality Inspection, In-process Quality Inspection, Linknet training, Laser Operator Training
