About The Position

The Dixon Group is looking for a Machine Operator to join our skilled manufacturing team in Chestertown, MD! In this hands-on role, you’ll operate and maintain specialized machinery to produce high-quality parts that power the agricultural industry. You’ll work with hydraulic presses, marking devices, and threading equipment to assemble precision components — and we’ll make sure you have the training and support to succeed. Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent required; technical training or related coursework preferred.
  • Strong mechanical aptitude and attention to detail
  • Willingness to learn, follow procedures, and work independently
  • Reliable, team-oriented mindset with great time management
  • Ability to lift up to 50 lbs and stand for extended periods

Nice To Haves

  • Previous machine operation experience is a plus—but not required!
  • Experience in welding & plasma cutting is a strong plus!

Responsibilities

  • Set up and load material into equipment
  • Operate specialized equipment safely, efficiently and precisely
  • Monitor machine performance
  • Adjust machine settings to maintain quality and efficiency
  • Identify and isolate defective parts
  • Perform basic troubleshooting of machine issues
  • Record production data
  • Adhere to safety protocols
  • Maintain a clean and organized work area
