PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITY: Responsibility of the set up and operation of machine(s) to insure that quality products are achieved at a consistent rate of speed in accordance with machine standards, and observe Operators to ensure all check list procedures and all safety procedures are followed. SECONDARY RESPONSIBILITIES: Set up machine in a consistent manner as instructed in the training program. Responsible to maintain the procedures with regard to proper set up unless the training is changed and properly recorded with regard to procedure Follow all checklist procedures fully Keep all parts in their proper place and recommend replacement or repair of worn parts by filling out the designated form Observe safety procedures at all times Responsible for mounting all tray machine rolls during shift Operate or set up tray machines as directed to meet production requirements Be responsible for all equipment, tools assigned, and notify the supervisor of any additional tools or equipment that would add to the efficiency and safety of the operation Work with the operator in analyzing and correcting production problems as they occur, ask the supervisor for assistance when needed Follow all instructions issued on the work jacket and advise the supervisor of any incorrect or non-recorded information that is necessary for proper set-up and operation Adjust to and follow new procedures and innovations, which would add to the efficiency and safety of the operation Be responsible for training new operators in the department Keep all necessary supplies available to the operator to ensure an efficient operation Be responsible for the quality of the product, packaging, labeling, and stocking See that pallet loads are accurately counted, tagged, and entered to the production report Assist in off-loading product from conveyers to pallets Maintain a clean work environment including the machine, floors, desks, and fans in accordance with our 5S system

Requirements

  • Experience operating a tray machine, preferably in a folding carton environment.
  • High school diploma or general education degree (GED); or one to three months related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Must have basic computer skills and possess ability to utilize software.
  • Must have mechanical ability and skills.
  • Must have the ability to read and understand documents, letters, etc. and write legibly in English.
  • Must be able to understand and speak clearly, communicate, and understand directions in English as needed.
  • Must have the ability to add, subtract, multiply and divide both fractions and decimals, solve equations, read a tape measure, and have an understanding of both standard and metric measuring systems.
  • Regular attendance and reporting for work on time are necessary requirements as is availability for overtime work if necessary.
