About The Position

The Machine Operator is responsible for operating, monitoring, and maintaining manufacturing equipment to produce capsules and tablets in compliance with established procedures, quality standards, and safety regulations.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or GED required.
  • Minimum 1 year of experience operating encapsulation or compression machinery in a manufacturing environment preferred; candidates with comparable machine operation experience may also be considered.
  • Ability to read and write in English and perform basic mathematical calculations.
  • Basic computer literacy for data entry and recordkeeping.
  • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
  • Ability to work autonomously and manage time effectively.
  • Flexibility to work overtime or alternative shifts as needed.
  • Must comply with GMP requirements
  • Must be able to lift 50 lbs.
  • Must be able to stand for 8 hours per shift.
  • Must be able to work in an environment that is exposed to powders, chemicals, and allergens (peanuts, tree nuts, milk, dairy, eggs, wheat, gluten, soy, fish, and shellfish).
  • Ability to climb stepladders with ease to reach high machinery.
  • Physical ability to repetitively lift, stand, climb, bend, etc. within a manufacturing environment

Nice To Haves

  • Minimum 1 year of experience operating encapsulation or compression machinery in a manufacturing environment preferred; candidates with comparable machine operation experience may also be considered.

Responsibilities

  • Operate encapsulation and compression (tablet press) equipment independently and within a team environment.
  • Prepare equipment according to batch records and SOPs for production runs, including verification of readiness.
  • Feed powders and raw materials into machines and monitor operational parameters.
  • Perform in-process checks, including weight, length, and visual inspections of product to ensure conformance to specifications.
  • Document all production activities accurately in batch records and logbooks.
  • Ensure products are manufactured according to quality specifications and within established timelines.
  • Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work environment.
  • Alert supervisors and mechanics promptly regarding any equipment malfunctions or product deviations.
  • Ensure proper cleaning and transition of equipment between product batches.
  • Adhere strictly to Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs), Good Manufacturing Practices (cGMPs), and safety requirements.
  • Support cross-training initiatives within manufacturing as business needs dictate.
  • Perform additional duties as assigned.
