About The Position

Light Industrial Assignment to Hire Machine Operators- are you looking to learn more on the job skills and grow within a family owned and operated Appleton business? Position: Machine Operator Location: Appleton Hours: Monday-Friday 8am-4pm Pay: $18-25 DOE Length- Temp- to Hire Essential Duties and Responsibilities The essential functions include, but are not limited to the following: Review CAD files and job specifications to determine machine settings and cutting requirements. Start, warm up, calibrate, and operate industrial lasers, high-speed routers, and laminating equipment. Load and secure materials such as die board, counter plate stock, and laminates. Apply tool paths to part geometry using specialized production software. Monitor part quality during runs and make necessary adjustments to maintain tolerances. Unload and stage completed parts for die assembly. Use gluing stations and vacuum presses to laminate boards before or after cutting. Finish boards with hand tools to remove burrs, smooth edges, and ensure accurate fit. Package finished components for storage or delivery to the die-making team. Maintain organized staging areas for parts awaiting further processing. Receive and inspect incoming materials against packing slips for quality and accuracy. Store materials in designated locations for shop-wide access. Maintain raw material inventory, reporting shortages to management. Cut scrap materials to size and dispose of waste in appropriate containers. Perform light maintenance on machines, including oiling, greasing, and cleaning. Follow all PPE requirements and shop safety protocols. Maintain a clean and organized work area to ensure efficient workflow. Assist in prepping dies for assembly as needed. Support fabrication of rubber dies, stripping sets, and blanking sets during high-volume periods. Occasionally deliver finished parts to customers using company vehicles.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent required.
  • Valid driver’s license.
  • Prior manufacturing or machine operation experience preferred.
  • Ability to read and interpret CAD layouts, blueprints, and technical drawings.
  • Basic mechanical knowledge and proficiency in machine setup and operation.
  • Strong attention to detail and ability to maintain tight tolerances.
  • Effective communication skills for coordinating with the design and die-making teams.
  • Accurate part measurement and inspection.
  • Mechanical aptitude for setup, operation, and troubleshooting.
  • Ability to follow CAD-driven production workflows.
  • Strong organizational skills for managing parts and materials.
  • Operation of industrial cutting equipment and laminating machinery.
  • Familiarity with CAD/CAM production software.
  • Basic machine maintenance, including lubrication and cleaning.
  • Ability to stand for long periods and lift up to 50 lbs.
  • Manual dexterity required for tool use and machine operation.
  • Must wear appropriate PPE and follow all safety protocols.
