About The Position

Machine Operator - 2nd shift 10 paid holidays & 3 weeks PTO!! Free Uniforms! We are actively hiring Compounder/Extrusion Operators to join our team at our Grand Rapids plant. Americhem is one of the world’s largest manufacturers of custom color concentrates. Our production operators specialize in setting up, operating, and tending compounding mixing/extruding machines to process a variety of products that our customers use to manufacture a vast array of finished products. Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent, preferred
  • 1-2 years of relevant work experience in manufacturing/production, strongly preferred
  • Mechanical aptitude and ability to troubleshoot
  • Forklift experience
  • Dependable, reliable, and self-motivated
  • Solid math and analytic skills

Responsibilities

  • Holds safety in highest regard by making good safety decisions, following safety procedures, watching out for the safety of self and others, contributing to safety improvements, and participating in safety programs.
  • Produce compound samples according to specifications by using production equipment, devices, and instruments (extruders, scales, feeders, classifiers, pelletizers, dies, visual display units, dials, and calibrators).
  • Keeps machinery and mechanical equipment operational by performing preventative maintenance tasks on machine and equipment.
  • The Operator adds color mix to the feeder by using a tow motor/forklift to lift the color pot up to the platform and setting it in the proper slot.
