About The Position

Avery Dennison Reflective Solutions is looking for a Machine Operator to join our manufacturing team at our Mt. Prospect, IL plant. In this role, you will work 2nd Shift, 3PM-11:30PM, Mon-Fri. All interested individuals are encouraged to apply for this position. Our typical recruiting process takes 2-4 weeks, depending on the current hiring volume and number of applicants. The Machine Operator may be assigned to the embossing, sealing, or inspection departments as required to support the needs of the business. In this role, you will be assigned to one of three shifts (1st Shift, 2nd Shift, or 3rd Shift). The shift schedules are Monday-Friday and the hours for each are as follows: 1st Shift 7:00am-3:30pm, 2nd Shift 3:00pm-11:30pm, 3rd Shift 11:00pm-7:30am. 3rd shift Monday starts at 11:00pm Sunday night. Training for this position will take place on 1st Shift. You must be able to complete your training on 1st Shift before moving to 2nd Shift or 3rd Shift. Overtime opportunities are regularly available, depending on the needs of the business. Activities and duties may vary depending upon site-specific needs and daily work assignments. Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent (GED) or 3+ years of relevant manufacturing experience required.
  • Comfortable working with computers.
  • Able to work with others and actively contribute in a team environment.
  • Basic reading, writing and mathematical skills.
  • Regard safety as a core value and serve as role model for other employees.
  • Adhere to safety practices, policies and procedures.
  • Encourage open communication and positive interaction with others to effectively reach a common goal.
  • Have a strong service and quality focus, be able to address issues effectively when problems arise and take initiative to understand the root cause.

  • Detail oriented and able to follow written/oral instruction.
  • Be able and willing to work overtime, including short-notice requests.
  • Able to lift 50 pounds.

Responsibilities

  • Perform the Six Sigma starting procedures.
  • Read photometric samples.
  • Wash and lubricate belts.
  • Create shop packets.
  • Maintain a safe, clean, efficient and productive workplace.
  • Maintain utilization and minimize downtime, within departmental guidelines.
  • Make decisions regarding quality issues.
  • Utilize continuous monitoring devices and other measuring equipment regularly.
  • Maintain accurate reporting and documentation.
  • Perform additional duties, as assigned.
