We are seeking a Machine Operator to support our Generator Manufacturing Division by safely operating advanced fabrication equipment in a fast-paced production environment. JOB SUMMARY This manufacturing position focuses on operating metal fabrication and automated production equipment to cut, form, and process materials used in generator manufacturing. The Machine Operator is responsible for safely setting up and operating equipment such as Press Brakes, Laser Cutting Machines, Waterjets, and Robotic Welding Cells, while ensuring quality, efficiency, and compliance with all safety requirements. The ideal candidate demonstrates strong attention to detail, the ability to read shop drawings, and a safety-first mentality when working around automated and high-powered machinery.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent required
  • Previous machine operating experience in a manufacturing or production environment required
  • Ability to read and interpret shop drawings and work instructions
  • Experience using precision measuring tools
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
  • Commitment to minimizing material waste through best practices
  • Proven ability to maintain equipment and work areas in a safe, clean, and organized condition
  • Working knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite
  • Demonstrated understanding of workshop safety practices and machine operation hazards

Nice To Haves

  • Experience operating Press Brakes, Laser Cutting, Waterjet, or Robotic Welding equipment preferred

Responsibilities

  • Set up and operate fabrication equipment including Press Brakes, Laser Cutters, Waterjet machines, and Robotic Welders
  • Load materials and fixtures into machines using proper lifting techniques and material-handling equipment
  • Operate machines to cut, bend, form, or weld materials according to shop drawings, work instructions, and specifications
  • Monitor machine operation to ensure quality, accuracy, and efficient production output
  • Perform first-piece and in-process inspections using precision measuring instruments (calipers, micrometers, tape measures, gauges)
  • Adjust machine settings as required to maintain dimensional accuracy and part quality
  • Inspect finished parts for conformance to quality standards and tolerances
  • Identify defects or variances and report issues to supervision
  • Perform routine machine maintenance and housekeeping to keep equipment in safe working condition
  • Maintain tooling, fixtures, and work areas in a clean and organized manner
  • Perform all duties with a safety-first mindset, following OSHA, company, and site-specific safety policies
  • Properly use required PPE and follow lockout/tagout procedures when performing setup, adjustments, or maintenance
  • Maintain awareness of machine guarding, light curtains, and emergency stop systems
  • Immediately report unsafe conditions, near misses, or equipment concerns
  • Participate in safety training, audits, and continuous improvement initiatives
  • Perform other duties as assigned by management
