What You'll Do As a slitter machine operator you will Setup & Technical Prep: Read and interpret order specifications and material requirements. You will perform complete machine setups, changeovers, and precise blade adjustments. Material Handling: Install cores and expertly thread material through the slitter to ensure a smooth start to every run. Precision Operation: Run the machine to exact specifications, either independently or as part of a coordinated setup team. Quality Control: Constantly monitor slit quality, roll tension, and cut accuracy. You’ll be the first line of defense against material defects. Finishing Touches: Label and package finished rolls, ensuring they are ready for the next stage of production. You’ll work with teammates, group leaders, and quality teams daily. This is a hands-on, active job that requires attention to detail and frequent communication. Shift & Schedule 2nd shift: 3:00 PM – 11:00 PM Work week: Sunday through Thursday Mandatory and voluntary overtime available Qualifications What You’ll Bring to the Team We are looking for someone who balances technical skill with a team-player mindset: Analytical Skills : The ability to translate work orders into physical machine adjustments (positioning blades and setting tension). Team Collaboration: A willingness to assist teammates and work closely with Quality and Group Leaders to hit daily production targets. Efficiency: A focus on maintaining speed without sacrificing the accuracy of the cut or the integrity of the material.

Requirements

  • High School Diploma (or equivalent) OR 3+ years of manufacturing experience.
  • Can do basic math (including decimals and percentages)
  • Ability to read and interpret technical work orders
  • Strong attention to detail regarding tension and measurement accuracy
  • Comfortable using metric and imperial units
  • Experience with machine setup and changeovers (slitting experience preferred)
  • Can lift 50 lbs repeatedly, stand for long periods, and follow detailed procedures
