About The Position

Eaton's ES GEIS CHD division is currently seeking a Machine Operator - 1st Shift. The core hours of the position are 6:30am to 2:30pm. The hourly rate for this position is $19.05 per hour. Please note the salary information shown above is a general guideline only. Salaries are based upon candidate skills, experience, and qualifications, as well as market and business considerations. What you'll do: Perform a variety of machining operations using single or multi-spindle drill press and/or tapping machines on various castings and parts. Duties include positioning parts into chucks, fixtures, or loading machines; moving selector levers for prescribed speeds; initiating machine cycle, removing machined part and check work. Work involves highly repetitive machine operations such as drilling, milling, tapping, reaming, boring, facing, threading, counterboring, etc. Check work with fixed gauges at prescribed intervals. Detect and report faulty machine operations, defective material, and unusual cases to proper supervision. Maintain work area and equipment in a clean and orderly condition. Follow prescribed or standard safety regulations.

Requirements

  • A minimum of three (3) months minimum working in a manufacturing environment.
  • No relocation benefit is offered for this position. Only candidates residing within the immediate geographic area (50 miles) of Syracuse, NY will be considered for this position.

  • Experience reading blueprint drawings and able to use measuring devices (verniers, micrometers, gages)
