Machine Operator
About The Position
The Machine operator 1 operates one single piece of equipment and is responsible at meeting production targets through proficient machinery operation and component inspections. Independently navigates startup, loads parent rolls, and contributes to team success. Ensures quality, documents specifications, and communicates effectively in a safety-conscious environment. The Machine Operator 2 is responsible for the duties & responsibilities of the Machine Operator 1 adding in the oversight of the core machine setup, auto feed hoppers, manual hoppers, and log saw, conducts minor maintenance, and adjusts machinery for optimal performance.
Requirements
- Must possess basic math and reading skills
- High School diploma or equivalent
- Proficient in MS Office products
- Must possess interpersonal relationship skills in working with a diverse group
Responsibilities
- Operates one single piece of equipment and is responsible at meeting production targets through proficient machinery operation and component inspections.
- Independently navigates startup, loads parent rolls, and contributes to team success.
- Ensures quality, documents specifications, and communicates effectively in a safety-conscious environment.
- Oversees the core machine setup, auto feed hoppers, manual hoppers, and log saw
- Conducts minor maintenance
- Adjusts machinery for optimal performance
- Performs inspections of machine and moving parts
- Loads parent rolls into the machine
- Physically climb through the machine safely for startup operations
- Provide written detailed documentation of product specification reporting
- Ensures all products meet the Outlook Nebraska quality standards through constant checks and written recordings
- Communicates information to other team members
- Participates in training meetings as needed for safety, quality, or other needs
- Run multiple pieces of primary and/or secondary converting equipment at an essential level
- Troubleshooting machine malfunctions and repairing equipment minimizing downtime & maximizing product output.
- Provide unscheduled emergency maintenance & repair of company equipment.
- Collaborates with external Outlook vendors to diagnose and fine tune equipment to optimize production output.
- Provides significant aide and support in the installation of new manufacturing equipment.
- Point of contact to answer inquiries by Converting leadership & Maintenance associates.
