About The Position

Central Ohio Farmers Co-op, Inc. is seeking a Machine Operator to work in their Marion, OH processing facility. The ideal candidate will possess excellent attention to detail, a "lead-by-example" attitude, strong work ethics, and the ability to effectively and respectfully communicate with all employees and management. This role is crucial for maintaining high standards of quality control and operational efficiency within the facility.

Requirements

  • Medium to high level of mechanical ability
  • Current or previous experience in a manufacturing environment.
  • Strong attention to detail.
  • Comfortable with heights.
  • Comfortable working on a catwalk.
  • Comfortable working with moving surfaces.
  • Good communication skills.
  • Dependable attendance.
  • Agree to follow all safety rules including LOTO (lock-out-tag-out).
  • Wear proper PPE (safety glasses, hard hat, ear plugs and steel-toe boots covering ankle).
  • Work well independently and as a team.
  • Able to work overtime and occasional weekends and holidays to meet business needs.
  • Any present or future qualifications needed to maintain this position.
  • Maintain a positive attitude that promotes teamwork and fosters a favorable image of the cooperative.

Responsibilities

  • Develop product knowledge and follow all company policies and procedures.
  • Be aware of and follow all applicable safety and environmental regulations.
  • Understand the proper operation of conveyance equipment and the associated safety systems of that equipment.
  • Follow preventive maintenance schedules and document accordingly.
  • Maintain high standards of quality control by following and enforcing procedures approved by the Company.
  • Track inventory and communicate findings effectively and honestly.
  • Clean and prepare storage facilities as needed.
  • Collect and document product samples for testing as required.
  • Use troubleshooting skills.
  • Understand how to safely shutdown and isolate equipment for maintenance using Lock Out Tag Out procedures.
  • Use sound judgment and abilities to support the best interests of the company in all situations.
  • Perform all other related duties as needed or assigned.
