About The Position

The Insertion Operator is responsible for operating and maintaining insertion equipment on production lines (primarily Lines 669, 664, and 665). This role includes performing machine startups and shutdowns, conducting changeovers, cleaning and inspecting equipment, and troubleshooting issues during production. The operator ensures continuous production output, maintains safety and quality standards, and manages the inventory of essential materials, including wax tips and hoses. To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. Requirements

High school diploma or equivalent.
Basic math skills for accurate measurements and calculations.
Basic blueprint reading ability.
Strong mechanical aptitude and problem-solving skills.
Ability to follow written and oral instructions.
Excellent communication and organizational skills.

Responsibilities

Safely and efficiently start up and shut down insertion machines.
Perform changeovers on Line 669, including setups such as 0.98-86, 72-86, and 180.
Replace BDT set screws on Lines 664 and 665, verify correct depth, and make adjustments as needed.
Monitor and maintain appropriate wax and oil levels for optimal machine operation.
Maintain machine productivity while repairing rejected hubs.
Remove chip buildup and wash parts taken from Line 669.
Track inventory of wax tips and hoses, notifying Purchasing when restocking is required.
Follow all workplace safety guidelines, including proper use of personal protective equipment (e.g., steel-toe boots).
Lift and handle materials weighing 50+ lbs regularly.
Apply mechanical knowledge and use tools to perform routine equipment checks and maintenance tasks.
Troubleshoot and assist with production and process improvements
Efficiently communicate with Lead to obtain necessary materials and supplies
Attend meetings, training sessions, and workshops as assigned.
Perform other duties as assigned to support team and operational goals.
Ability to verbally communicate effectively and collaboratively or in writing.
