Temp The Wire Buncher Operator is responsible for setting up and operating bunching equipment to combine component sub-assemblies into twisted cable. This role ensures safe operation, high-quality production, and adherence to manufacturing and quality standards. Essential Duties and Responsibilities Drive continuous improvement in safety, quality, and production processes. Understand, follow, and actively promote all safety practices. Perform quality work independently with minimal supervision. Load and unload payoffs and finished product using a hoist. Load sub-assemblies according to lay-up charts. Load tapes, binders, and fillers onto appropriate payoff equipment as required. Set up equipment with proper dies, gear ratios, tensions, payoff angles, and perform external setups during operation. Operate main and auxiliary equipment efficiently and safely. Maintain manufacturing control documentation, including line logs and move tickets. Inspect products and samples to ensure quality compliance; maintain logs, SPC forms, and related records. Clean and maintain equipment, tools, and work area. Support departmental housekeeping efforts. Identify and report unusual conditions, defective materials, or equipment issues promptly to supervision. Follow Kanban procedures for insulated wire, bare drain wire, and shielding tapes. Communicate effectively with operators on other shifts regarding schedules and production issues. Assist in training new employees and cross-training current employees. Perform other duties as assigned. Working Conditions and Physical Requirements Ability to process, compile, verify, and analyze production and quality data. Ability to monitor operations and detect potential issues. Near and far vision capabilities to inspect materials and equipment. Ability to perform physically demanding tasks, including climbing, balancing, lifting, walking, pushing, pulling, stooping, and handling materials. Frequent use of hands and arms for handling tools, controls, and materials. Ability to stand for extended periods, as well as bend, squat, reach, and sit as required. Perform repetitive motions throughout the shift. Ability to lift at least 70 pounds . Required use of standard personal protective and safety equipment. Work performed indoors in an environmentally controlled manufacturing environment.
