Operator will be responsible for operating equipment and understanding the various packaging equipment. They will ensure products are packaged to Mrs. Gerry’s quality and safety standards. MUST BE ABLE TO SPEAK, READ & WRITE ENGLISH PROFICIENTLY. What You’ll Do As a 1 st Shift Machine Operator , you’ll: Know and follow HACCP and SQF programs. Know and follow all Food Safety procedures. Follow all Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs). Wear all required personal protective equipment. Must sanitize equipment before using. Ensuring all lids, containers and box labels represent the product being filled. Ensure weight of each container of salad must weigh right on or .10 over, never under. Check dates on product and box, check metal detectors and weights. Set up, wash down, and tear down machinery. Will rotate to other jobs in the facility and complete duties as assigned.

Requirements

  • May need to lift up to 40 pounds.
  • Able to stand, walk, push, pull, reach, stoop, kneel, twist, walk up stairs, etc.
  • Able to use hands to perform tasks associated with the position.
  • Alert to surroundings to ensure safety for self and others.
  • Able to hear the horn of a forklift, machinery, individuals providing instructions, emergency sirens, and more.
  • Vision abilities include close, distance, color, peripheral, depth perception, and adjust eyesight to focus.
  • The ability to read, write, and speak English is necessary to meet the communication and documentation requirements associated with this role.

Nice To Haves

  • May need to obtain forklift and/or pallet jack license.
