About The Position

The Machine Operator position at Cornerstone Building Brands involves operating machine shop and mold press equipment to support the assembly process. The role requires performing various machine operations, detecting and reporting defective materials, maintaining a clean and safe work environment, and conducting preventative maintenance on machines. The operator will work under the supervision of a production supervisor and must be familiar with basic machine functions. Requirements

  • Required to use power hand tools
  • Required to drive a forklift
  • Ability to work effectively to meet deadlines
  • Ability to work with a diversified work force
  • Ability to read different measuring devices (i.e. tape measure, protractor, micometer)
  • High school diploma or GED
  • 2 years of factory-related experience
  • Must be familiar with the basic machine functions in order to perform the tasks stated above
  • Must be willing to accept and receive frequent supervision and assistance with regard to machine set-up

Responsibilities

  • Operates machine shop and mold press in assembly process under supervision and direction of production supervisor
  • Performs typical machine shop and mold press operations to support the assembly floor
  • Detects and report defective materials or questionable conditions to the department supervisor
  • Maintains the work area and equipment in a clean orderly condition and follows prescribed safety regulations
  • Performs prescribed preventative maintenance on machines as required per the P.M. charts
  • Must be able to perform but not limited to the following tasks: milling, turning, drilling, taping, de-burring, molding, and all bench operations and inspect
