About The Position
We are seeking a skilled Machine Operator to join our client's team in Philadelphia, PA. The ideal candidate will be responsible for operating Waterjet Machines or Cutting/Slitting presses. This position requires a commitment to quality and efficiency, as well as the ability to work collaboratively with other team members. The role involves setting up machines, performing routine maintenance, and ensuring that production quality meets the required standards. The Machine Operator will work Monday to Friday, with shifts available during the day, evening, and night. The pay range for this position is between $15.00 and $30.00 per hour, depending on experience. As a Machine Operator, you will be tasked with setting up the Waterjet machines appropriately for cutting programs and materials. This includes changing out worn components to limit downtime and performing in-process inspections to ensure consistent production quality. You will also be responsible for learning to use inspection gauges to measure parts and performing routine maintenance and area clean-ups as assigned. For those operating Die cutting/Slitting presses, the responsibilities include setting up presses for cutting dies and materials, ensuring that production quality is maintained, and performing inspections as detailed on the inspection check sheets. The role requires a high school diploma or GED and 3 to 5 years of experience working with Waterjet machines. Candidates must be able to read production specification documents, accurately fill out production forms, and perform basic arithmetic to keep correct counts of production. Strong communication skills are essential for interacting with fellow employees and various departments, including technical and quality departments. Additionally, the ability to lift up to 70 pounds and handle sharp steel rule cuttings safely is required. The successful candidate will demonstrate good workmanship practices and a willingness to learn various jobs to contribute to the versatility of the department.
