Requirements

  • High school diploma or GED.
  • Manufacturing experience a plus.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • Basic math skills.
  • Highly motivated.
  • Strong time management and priorities management skills.
  • Analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Computer literate with knowledge of Excel.
  • Ability to interact with vendors and internal customers.

Responsibilities

  • Load material into machine or roll feeders.
  • Put die into machine and check accuracy of position.
  • Operate machine in manual or automatic mode, monitoring accuracy.
  • Remove product and scrap from machine.
  • Read order for specifications, material, and tolerances.
  • Select proper die and transport it to the machine, using safety equipment when needed.
  • Select, align, and secure holding fixtures, cutting tool attachments, die, and accessories on machine.
  • Calculate and set controls to regulate machining factors such as speed and feed.
  • Start and observe machine operation to detect malfunctions or out-of-tolerance machining.
  • Adjust machine controls or controls media as required.
  • Verify conformance of finished product to specifications, using a micrometer or other gauges.
  • Seek assistance from experienced team members for assistance in any part of the production process.
  • Produce accurate product in order to support the companies' quality requirements.
  • Maintain a clean and safe work environment.
  • Complete all necessary paperwork and/or reports.
  • Consistently meet acceptable production levels.
  • Complete preventive maintenance as required.
  • Participate in team activities such as Quality, Safety, Training, and Attendance.
  • Wear appropriate personal protective equipment such as hearing protection, safety glasses, gloves when appropriate.
  • Take tests related to job performance, which could include such tests as vision tests and strength testing or related to health, such as hearing tests.
  • Participate in annual training required by departments such as safety and personnel.
  • Learn to operate all machines in the classification in order to enhance work completion.
  • Learn to operate the forklift safely.
