About The Position

The position involves receiving parts and order information tickets from the burner operator. The primary responsibilities include accurately checking material sizes and quantities using various tools such as tape measures, calipers, and yard scales. The role also requires verification of item descriptions on work copies, removing burs and slag from parts using hand tools like chisels and hand-held grinders, and packaging and tagging parts for shipment. Additionally, the employee will move packaged parts to the staging area using a forklift or overhead/gantry crane and maintain housekeeping in the work area.

Requirements

• Ability to stand or sit for extended periods on a concrete floor.
• Ability to lift up to 50 pounds, with the option to use remote control cranes/forklifts.
• Ability to bend, squat, kneel to inspect and handle material.
• Ability to push/pull up to 50 pounds, with the option to use remote control cranes/forklifts.
• Ability to read orders and follow instructions.

Responsibilities

• Receives parts and order information ticket from burner operator.
• Accurately checks material size and quantity using tape measures, calipers, and yard scales.
• Verifies item descriptions on work copies.
• Removes burs and slag from parts using hand tools including chisels and hand-held grinders.
• Packages and tags parts for shipment.
• Moves packaged parts to staging area using forklift and/or overhead/gantry crane.
• Maintains housekeeping.
• Operates tumbling machine occasionally to clean parts.
• Monitors work area.
• Performs other duties assigned by the foreman as necessary to complete the shift.
