About The Position

The Machine Operator at Blackout Coffee Co is responsible for the operation of equipment used in the packaging of coffee products, including whole beans, ground coffee, and coffee capsules. This role involves cross-training in various processes such as grinding, blending, and flavoring, ensuring the production of high-quality coffee while maintaining safety and cleanliness in the work area.

Requirements

• High School Diploma or GED is preferred
• Basic to intermediate computer skills
• Basic knowledge of mechanics
• Strong mathematical skills
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills
• Ability to uphold Safety standards and participate in Continuous Process Improvement
• Ability to handle and prioritize multiple tasks in a fast-paced environment
• Ability to work positively in a team environment and occasionally work a flexible schedule with overtime
• Ability to follow policies and procedures as well as operating principles
• Ability to lift up to 50 pounds regularly
• Ability to constantly lift, bend, stretch, stand during entire shift and reach overhead with repetitive motions
• Dependability and punctuality
• Positive attitude and willingness to learn

Responsibilities

• Operate a pallet jack and other material moving equipment
• Meet daily production scheduling
• Operate bagging machine to pack coffee into bags (whole bean or ground)
• Operate coffee capsule machine to pack coffee into capsules
• Utilize operator interface panels
• Package priority items on the punch list before handling other products
• Perform simple scheduled maintenance on equipment (with and without assistance of a tech)
• Prepare machines for startup and shutdown procedures as necessary
• Responsible for ensuring the production of a safe, wholesome and quality product and require trained designees when applicable
• Maintain a clean and orderly work area
• Perform other duties as requested by management
