About The Position

The Water jet operator typically involves setting up and operating a high-pressure water jet cutting machine to precisely cut various materials by programming the machine with CAD designs, loading material, monitoring the cutting process, inspecting finished parts for quality, and performing routine maintenance on the equipment, all while adhering to safety protocols.

Requirements

High School Diploma / GED or higher-level education.
Ability to read and interpret technical drawings and blueprints.
Proficiency in CAD software for programming cutting paths.
Attention to detail and ability to maintain tight tolerances.
Basic math skills for calculations
Proven record of stable work history and exemplary attendance.
Ability to communicate effectively both orally and in writing.

Responsibilities

Work safely and courteously, adhering to all Company policies and procedures.
Load and secure material onto the cutting table according to job cards.
Program the water jet machine using CAD software to create cutting paths.
Adjust machine settlings like pressure, nozzle type, and cutting speed as needed.
Monitor the cutting process, ensuring consistent quality and identifying any potential issues.
Unload cut parts and perform basic deburring.
Inspect finished parts for accuracy, dimensions, and surface quality against blueprints.
Identify and address any cutting defects or inconsistencies.
Perform routine cleaning and lubrication of the water jet machine.
Monitor fluid levels and replace as necessary.
Report any machine malfunctions to maintenance personnel.
Adhere to all safety procedures related to operating high-pressure water jet machine.
