About The Position

Buechel Stone is seeking a Machine Operator - Stone Finishing to join our production team. In this role, you will operate equipment to finish natural stone products used in architectural and building applications. This position plays a key role in ensuring our stone meets the high-quality standards our customers expect. You will also safely handle materials using forklifts, cranes, and suction lifting devices while working from shop drawings and specifications.

Requirements

• Experience in manufacturing, stone fabrication, or machine operation preferred
• Ability to operate or willingness to learn forklifts and overhead cranes
• Familiarity with reading drawings or production specifications
• Strong basic math and measurement skills
• Ability to read and write English
• Mechanical aptitude and comfort working with equipment
• Ability to work with natural stone products and heavy materials
• Strong attention to detail, commitment to quality, and pride in craftsmanship

Responsibilities

• Operate stone finishing equipment to produce high-quality natural stone products
• Achieve required finishes using machinery and hand tools
• Safely operate forklifts and overhead cranes to move, load, and position stone materials
• Use vacuum/suction lifting devices to handle large or irregular stone pieces
• Read and interpret blueprints, work orders, and specifications
• Perform precise measurements to ensure accurate production
• Perform basic math calculations for dimensions, cuts, and material usage
• Inspect finished stone for quality, consistency, and adherence to Buechel Stone standards
• Adjust machine settings based on material type and finish requirements
• Receive direction and work orders from supervisor
• Verify that tools and equipment are in proper working condition
• Perform daily routine maintenance inspections of equipment
• Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work area
• Participate in mandatory stretching exercise program
• Follow all safety procedures and company guidelines
• Other duties as assigned
