About The Position

This position is responsible for operating various exposed wood furniture frame sanding machines such as sidestroke, pump, spool sander, wide belt sander, flutter sander, string sander, Nash (for turnings and carvings), and Locatelli.

Position Details: Holds and turns stock by hand against sanding head or belt and pushes stock back and forth against sanding head or belt until rough surfaces and edges of stock are smooth Ability to putty and repair wood Replaces worn sandpaper belts or sandpaper on sanding heads, cuts to designated size/shape prior to placement Must work by our Standard Operating Procedures Required to use a tape measure to verify measurements on the wood Must follow all safety policies and procedures All other duties as assigned

Requirements

• High school diploma or GED preferred
• Must be able to read a tape measure
• Previous machine operation experience preferred
• Must be able to stand most of the 9 hour shift but also be able to walk, climb, stoop, twist, push, pull, and bend over throughout the day
• Must be able to work in noisy environments
• Must be able to continuously push/pull materials throughout shift
• Must be able to grasp with hands frequently
• Frequently lifting/carrying objects up to 50 lbs.; up to 100 lbs. with assistance

• All other duties as assigned
