About The Position

The Machine Operator will be responsible for setting up and changing equipment based upon product need, while adhering to all food safety and food quality guidelines. This role requires physical attendance in a Long-Term Assignment and the ability to set up, change over, adjust, repair and operate all machinery/equipment across all shifts. The operator must ensure all equipment is in operating condition and ready for on-time start-up, making necessary adjustments to keep products flowing consistently. Responsibilities include performing process control and quality checks, operating date coders, observing all OSHA and facility safety rules, maintaining a safe work area, cleaning equipment, assisting Quality Assurance, troubleshooting processing equipment, completing daily production reports, and training new associates.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or GED required.
  • 2 years of experience in a manufacturing environment.
  • Good communication skills, both written and verbal.
  • Ability to perform mathematical calculations (add, subtract, multiply, divide, compute rates and percentages).
  • Knowledge, skills, and ability to operate computer programs as needed.
  • Proficient in Rich's SCADA system.
  • Ability to deal with change, pressure and exercise good judgment skills.
  • Desire and ability to operate as a member of a Self-Directed work team.
  • Ability to work in and contribute to Production Improvement, Associate Involvement, and Temporary Teams as assigned.

Responsibilities

  • Set up, change over, adjust, repair and operate all machinery/equipment on all shifts.
  • Ensure all equipment is in operating condition and ready for on-time start-up.
  • Make necessary adjustments to keep products flowing consistently.
  • Perform process control and quality checks.
  • Operate date coders and verify code dates on cases.
  • Observe all OSHA and facility safety rules and regulations.
  • Maintain work area in a safe and orderly fashion according to GMP and Safety Guidelines.
  • Clean all equipment using current sanitation practices.
  • Assist Quality Assurance in obtaining samples of products.
  • Perform basic troubleshooting of all processing equipment.
  • Complete daily production reports/documents accurately and timely.
  • Train new associates.
  • Perform any other miscellaneous duties as assigned.
