The operator will pack items in designated boxes and cartons according to customer orders, place identification labels on cartons, and report production on the production report. They will also report any malfunctions of assigned equipment or any major incidences of defective products or packing materials to the folding machine adjuster or supervisor. The operator may train new machine operators, perform rework on finished products, work on auxiliary equipment, and act as a utility person during breaks or meals. Maintaining a clean work area during and at the end of the shift is also part of the job. Physical requirements for this position include the ability to keep up with high-speed delivery output while standing for a full shift, mental alertness to stop equipment when a jam occurs, and the ability to step up, reach overhead, and manually feed blanks into the machine.
