About The Position

The Machine Operator 1 (MO1) is responsible for operating, maintaining, and repairing railway maintenance and inspection equipment. This role involves working with Loram's on-track maintenance of way (MOW) equipment and vehicles, ensuring safety and efficiency during operations. The operator will be tasked with conducting inspections, performing repairs, and documenting operational activities while adhering to safety protocols.

Requirements

• 2+ years of demonstrated technical skills in mechanical, electrical, hydraulic, and machine operations.
• 1 year of experience with MS Windows or technology background.
• Ability to communicate effectively both verbally and in writing.
• Commercial Driver's License (CDL B) or ability to obtain one.
• Maintain Railroad Certifications, CPR/First Aid, and a valid Driver's License.

Nice To Haves

• Experience working with Loram equipment or equivalent in a 24/7 environment.
• Excavator experience.

Responsibilities

• Operate and maintain railway maintenance and inspection equipment.
• Conduct machine inspections to identify problems, defects, and hazards.
• Perform common repairs as instructed and communicate conditions to supervisors.
• Accurately record and report parts used and maintenance activities.
• Lead job briefings during operations and maintenance shifts.
• Follow safe work processes and procedures consistently.
• Document daily field reporting and administrative tasks as necessary.
